Automatic Steering with TAC Sensor in corn - November 1, 2007
Over 50,000 acres of corn have been harvested in the last 2 years utilizing TAC sensor steering. Wear resistant synthetic tactile sensors “feel” their way through the row crop and steer the combine, or self-propelled machine, accurately, hands-free across the field. It maintains its course 99.9% of the time, day or night, with accuracy of 3cm or less. This system is capable of steering through any field at any point in the growing season, no matter what system was used for planting.
